Leafy Romper et lille, enkelt og elegant stykke strikketøj. Svalende alene på varme sommerdage eller som et fint ekstra lag på koldere årstider. Opskriften er enkel, hopper hurtigt af pindende og forbruger relativt lidt garn. Den er derfor yderst velegnet som en hurtig og personlig barselsgave og som restegarn eller ”stash-buster” projekt.

Romperen strikkes nedefra og op. Først strikkes skridtets for- og bagstykke hver for sig, frem og tilbage. Herefter sættes for- og bagstykke sammen og strikkes rundt indtil armhulen nås. Her deles romperen igen op i for- og bagstykke og disse strikkes nu færdige hver for sig, frem og tilbage. På skidtets forstykke påbegyndes bladmønstret, som fortsætter hele vejen op langs forstykket. De bladmønstrede seler strikkes hver for sig, monteres på det øverste bagstykke og lukkes med trykknapper på det øverste forstykke. Romperen lukkes i skridtet ved hjælp af tre knapper og knaphuller.

The Leafy Romper is a small, simple, and elegant piece of knitwear. Cool when worn alone on warm summer days or as an extra layer for the colder season. The pattern is simple, and the project is fast and consumes fairly little yarn. This is therefore a perfect project for a fast and personal gift for the new baby as well as a “stash-busting” project.

The romper is worked from the bottom up. Firstly, the bottom front and back are worked separately, back and forth. Then the two are put together and worked in the round until the armpit. Finally, the romper is divided into top front and -back sections and once more worked separately, back and forth. The leaf pattern is commenced at the bottom front and continues to the top along the front of the romper. The suspenders, likewise with the leaf pattern, are worked separately and then grafted onto the top back and fastened at the top front using snap fasteners. The romper is closed in the bottom using three buttons and buttonholes.
